Sunday Brunch Love

2020reflection hue+food marriage and family Dec 06, 2020

It's Sunday, and for the last couple of weeks, I've been enjoying being present in my kitchen and with my #GustafsonTrio.

Today, I thought I'd share my Eggnog French Toast recipe.

We had it today along with maple syrup, B's sweet berry compote, icing sugar, and applewood smoked bacon.

No big, long message today, just a tiny reminder to enjoy the moment - every sight, sound, smell, taste.

(Including those of your teenager cleaning the kitchen after this kind of creation.) Happy Sunday, Folks!

Eggnog French Toast

¾ cups eggnog
2 raw eggs
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
¾ tsp salt
4 slices challah bread or texas toast
cooking spray

1. Set a non-stick pan over medium heat.
2. Whisk together eggnog, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt
3. Spray the pan with cooking spray. Dip each slice of bread into the batter and then cook on each side for 2-3 minutes, until deep golden brown.
4. Serve with your favorite toppings. (Our Trio likes maple syrup, icing sugar, or berry compote.)
