2024 Pantone Color of The Year: Peach Fuzz | Hue And Style

Pantone, the color authority, has released their Color Of The Year 2024, and it's an energetic, joyful jolt of optimism: Peach Fuzz.

Executive Director of the Pantone Institute, Letrice Eiseman, describes Peach Fuzz as "a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul. [It] echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection. We chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless."

Standing in my own Hue and Style® Universe with a method of connecting color psychology to personal values, expression, and personal brand impact, here's my take:

I teach my clients from the three tiers of aspirational color psychology, which communicates a mood message, motivation message, and influence message simultaneously. That way, whether you can wear a color that flatters you or place it in your home as a symbol, it feels like it aligns with and expresses your individuality.

Peach Fuzz hue offers us an approachable statement of authenticity. Of the five influencing outcomes in Hue and Style® Color Power psychology, Peach Fuzz is a joyful representation of strength and dedication. The tint softens a powerful message surrounding the power behind loyally following our inner values with like-minded people to make a broader difference that fosters more humanness and empathy.
"Peach Fuzz calls us to take action with authenticity driving the creation of communities that embrace true belonging." ~MCG

All hues are not perfect for all skin tones. Every hue has characteristics that either harmonize with your natural features or compete with them. When a hue harmonizes with the 18 characteristics an individual has in coloring and complexion features, they shine with light-from-within radiance. At the same time, they send a color psychology-influencing message to their audience.

Peach Fuzz is a tint of orange placed squarely in the warm hue region of the color wheel. It has a flattering variation in 60% of the 12-season Hue and Style palettes. Because of its yellow content, season color palettes that dominantly favor coolness will find wearing this hue challenging. It may make you look a "little jaundice," presenting a yellow shadow on parts of the face. There is no "cheating" in this hue. You can either wear it or not because of the warmth and lightness of its characteristics. H&S clients, if it's not in your palette, email me, and I'll tell you how you can get close to the same effect with your personalized palette.

Peach Fuzz is a cry for coziness in a loud, divided and "warring" world on all fronts, from political strife to personal fulfillment. This hue is about feeling something we all want - connection.

While it's a pleasing, approachable hue, it's polarizing for many at first glance. You might have said immediately, "I love it!" or " Meh, I'm not in." This hue offers a minimal impression in the middle, which makes it tricky to use personal brand marketing or influence others. Be sure to use it with great intention and knowledge of its message.

It's Hue and Style® Color Influence psychology, which is one of joyful authenticity and, when used by the wearer correctly, will help you "show up confident" for your next chapter and invite others to come closer to you. Ultimately, Peach Fuzz's softness in hue suggests that it aims to instill pleasure while encouraging us to remain dedicated to our priorities.

I see an "I walk forward in truth" message in this 2024 hue selection.
